Privacy Policy

JobTkl ("JobTkl," "we," "us," or "our") operates jobtkl.com (the "Service"), an AI-powered career planning platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you as a user based in the United States.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Resume content. When you upload a resume (as a .pdf or .docx file) or paste resume text, we collect the full content of that resume, which may include your name, contact information, work history, education, skills, and other details you choose to include. See Section 6 for how long this is retained — by default, it's deleted automatically once your results are delivered, not kept indefinitely.
• Email address. Required to run a free resume analysis, to receive and recover your license key, and for account-related communication.
• Career preferences. Target role, industry, location, and experience level, if you provide them through our onboarding questions.
• Job descriptions. Text or links you paste in for Fit Score, Skill Gap Roadmap, Interview Playbook, or tailored Resume Studio features.
• Payment information. When you purchase credits, payment is processed by Razorpay, our third-party payment processor. We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details — Razorpay handles that in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• IP address. Used to (a) enforce daily limits on free-tier features so they remain sustainable for us to offer, and (b) provide an approximate default location for job search results when you don't specify one.
• Usage data. Which features you use, when, and how often (e.g., number of free analyses run, credits consumed), tied to your session and/or license.
• Browser session storage. Your license key and email may be stored in your browser's session storage (not traditional cookies, and not persistent local storage) to keep you recognized while your browser tab or window remains open. This clears automatically when you close your browser — it is not retained indefinitely on a shared or public computer. See Section 4 for more detail.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate your free resume analysis, Fit Score, Skill Gap Roadmap, Interview Playbook, and Resume Studio outputs.
• To search live job listings relevant to your resume and preferences.
• To process payments and issue license keys and credits.
• To enforce free-tier usage limits fairly across all users.
• To send you your license key, analysis results, or respond to support requests.
• To monitor and improve the accuracy and safety of our AI-generated content (see Section 3).
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your resume content to train our own AI models.

3. AI Processing Disclosure

JobTkl's core features are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI models, accessed via Anthropic's API. When you use Fit Score, Skill Gap Roadmap, Interview Playbook, Resume Studio, or the free resume analysis, the relevant content — your resume text and, where applicable, the job description you provide — is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing and is subject to Anthropic's own privacy practices. We do not control how Anthropic secures data in transit to and from its own infrastructure beyond what its published policies describe.

AI-generated content (analysis, resumes, interview guidance, and course recommendations) is produced automatically and, while we take steps to reduce inaccuracies, may occasionally contain errors. We recommend reviewing all AI-generated output — especially resumes and cover letters — before relying on or submitting it.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

JobTkl does not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We use browser session storage to remember your license key and email for convenience while you're actively using the site in a given browser session — this data is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab or window, and is never persisted indefinitely without your continued, active use. If you use JobTkl on a shared or public computer, you can also use the "Log out" option in the site's navigation bar to clear this immediately before you finish.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited information with the following third parties, solely to operate the Service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

6. Data Retention

We keep what's needed to deliver your results, and by default, no longer than that:

• Resume content and job description text. By default, the resume and job description text you submit for a free analysis, Fit Score, Skill Gap Roadmap, Interview Playbook, or Resume Studio is automatically deleted once your final output for that request (e.g., your analysis results, or your tailored resume and cover letter) has been generated and made available to you for download.
• You control retention beyond that default. You can choose to keep your submitted resume and analysis history on file for a longer period — for example, to revisit past results or re-run an analysis without re-uploading — or you can choose immediate deletion instead. Where you don't make an active choice, our default is the automatic deletion described above.
• Account and license information. Your email and license key, used to grant and recover access to purchased credits, are retained for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support license recovery, customer service, and legal/accounting requirements. This is separate from resume content and is not deleted on the same automatic schedule, since the Service cannot function without it.
• IP addresses collected solely for free-tier rate-limiting are retained only for a short rolling window sufficient to enforce daily limits.

You may request immediate deletion of any retained resume content, analysis history, or account information at any time — see Section 8.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit and access controls on our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Right to know / access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to delete — request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
• Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing — not applicable in practice, as we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge you differently for exercising these rights.

California residents specifically have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Residents of other states with comparable privacy laws (e.g., Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah) may have similar rights under their applicable state law.

9. Children's Privacy

JobTkl is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@jobtkl.com and we will take steps to delete it.

10. International Users

JobTkl is designed primarily for job seekers in the United States and Canada. If you access the Service from outside these regions, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated where feasible (e.g., via email or a notice on the Service).
